I had just recently completed the College Algebra on Sophia.org platform. Here is a couple of things to bear in mind and some advice that should help out with the real struggles of math:
1. If you do have any math courses you need to take for your degree, I STRONGLY recommend you complete them on the Sophia.org platform. Due to it being an open note / open book exam is absolutely necessary for the math courses! If you are like me who struggles with math and cannot remember every single formula for each problem then choose Sophia.org. (You have a higher chance of passing and obtaining a higher grade.)
2. In Sophia.org, there are options of two videos taught by different instructors you can select from. If the way they way communicate is not making sense to you, open up a tab with www.khanacademy.org. The breakdown and explanations for the math portions are broken down and explained simply. I would go back on and forth between Sophia videos and Khan Academy videos for things I was not able to grasp before.
3. Finally, I cannot stress this enough - DO the practice quizzes for all units. Complete the practice quizzes and print out the completed practice quizzes for all units. Whether you got the answers right or wrong it will have detailed explanations and breakdowns for reaching the concluded answer. VERY USEFUL. I would go a step further and paraphrase their explanations and take notes on that same printed practice quiz. Use the practice quizzes for your final exam as they will contain most of these questions on the Final. It will make a significant difference in scoring high on your test and succeeding!
Best of luck and success! You got this!
