HI, Staci,

I am currently taking Chemistry 1 on Straighterline.com. I'm not sure of your platform, but if it is SL, then it will be reading intensive. Like, you'll need to read the entire book and work the problems in the book to prepare for the exams. If you are on another platform, let me know how it goes! I have to take statistics too.

I successfully completed Statistics in the beginning in January. I won't lie to you, I found the class very challenging. But I did it, and I believe you can too. My usual footprint is one or two months per class, and I ended up taking nine weeks for Statistics. I was breezing along until Chapter 5 or so, then I slowed way down to try and process it all.

Things I recommend are a separate notebook as you're be doing a whole lot of math problems, the kind that take 1/2 to 3/4 of a page to complete, and I also bought a really good calculator. Some modules I completed two or three times to process everything.

The good news is that it satisfies most College Math requirements for non-scientific degrees, so once it's behind you, it's really behind you.

Thank you so much for your insight. I really appreciate it. It's a bit daunting, but I appreciate all your thoughts and tips on taking the course. I considered a tutor for it at first, but maybe that's not necessary. I'm really trying to get to where I'm completing two classes per month. Is your major Business Management?

Hi Staci, I completed Statistics as well as College Algebra back in December. It was definitely one of the more challenging courses that I completed - I think especially because I was attempting two math courses within a month.

I second everything that Alex Hanson said. However, I don't know if my specific study pattern would be a good fit for everyone. I usually aim to complete 1-2 courses per month. I do this by completing the quizzes as fast as possible (I usually do 10 or more quizzes per day), then once all quizzes are completed I attempt the practice final exam about 2-3 times before taking the proctored final exam.

With Statistics (or any other Math course) you definitely have to practice using the formulas in various problems to get a good handle on it. The practice exams are a great way to do this. Also feel free to use the tutoring resources on Study.com if you feel stuck on a problem. I usually breeze through my Study.com courses, but I had to use the "Instant Answers" feature a few times with Statistics because I needed help solving a few problems.

Once you've done all the quizzes and run the practice final exam as many times as you feel comfortable, then you are ready for the proctored exam. The good news is the Statistics proctored exam was only 70 questions and not the regular 100 questions.

Hello everybody,

I completed the Statistics course via Study.com and was curious if anybody can give insight into the final exam? Was it mostly math problems mixed with a few general questions, all math questions etc. Also, are you required to memorize all the formulas or can you bring your notes into the final? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
