I am swiftly moving through my American Government course. I am used to class room courses and this is my first online course. What methods do you use to capture and retain these short lessons since we have no text books. I am just wondering come exam time I won remember half of the course.

I haven't used straightener just yet but I've been on Study.com for my last two Psychology classes and now starting on Sophia.com for my Project Management course. At home I've been using two screens, one to take the course and another to take notes in Microsoft OneNote. I created a notebook called 'College Courses'. Then each course, I've made a section (Ex. Educational Psychology). Each chapter of the course, I've made a page in that section. Then each topic title in the chapter, I've marked with the 'star' icon. (Just in case that doesn't make any sense, I added a screenshot below.) I'm not sure if that will help everyone but it's made it very easy for me to study as I can use the search option in OneNote for a particular word or phrase. Plus I can use the OneNote app to study while on the 'go.' I'll typically do about an hour of studying my notes after each chapter and if I struggle with a particular topic I'll just rewatch the video.

I discovered an app called "Chegg". I can build my flash cards by chapter. I can either test myself chapter by chapter of have the app on my phone put them all together so I can test myself.
That's a great idea. I'm going to try it out. I have also used Quizzlet.com, you can create flashcards and share it with others. I found out a lot of our new hires use it to study city codes and other terms they need to learn.
